Best Sommelier of Europe, Africa and Middle East competition…the story so far and the live final today!
This time wasn’t Vincenzo’s time in the Best Sommelier of Europe, Africa and the Middle East Contest, but he did us proud. He represented the UK and himself with passion and demonstrated excellent talent, skills and knowledge in an extremely tough field including many return competitors and finalists from the world contest.
All the work, preparation and effort will not be wasted as we know this, only his first international competition, was a learning experience and a stepping stone to future great things.
ASI Sommeliers Contests Committee co-chair Olivier Poussier said ‘the calibre of our competitors continues to improve with each contest. What’s more impressive is the quality of those that don’t reach the semi-final and final rounds. The difference between the top competitors and those that fail to reach the semi-finals is less than the past. All competitors should be applauded for being here.’
Vincenzo, you’re an inspiration. Congratulations!
It’s been an enthralling competition so far and we’re very excited for the final today.
Compliments go to the excellent hosts Serbian Sommelier Association for the amazing job they are doing on the event and of course the ASI!
We want to congratulate each and every competitor as it’s an incredible accomplishment in itself to be selected as their nation’s representative and of course, congratulating and wishing the best of luck to the finalists today!
