The next member of our UKSA team to be introduced is Olivier Marie. We are eternally grateful to Olivier who graciously lends his services to be our Treasurer and amongst his board duties and contribution, to look after all the numbers!

Over to Olivier to tell us a little bit about himself and his motivation to be involved in the UKSA:

'My career in wine started in 1996, first working as a sommelier, then heading wine programs for various gastronomic restaurants in the capital until 2016.

2016 was a pivotal year in my career as I reached the final of the UK Sommelier of the Year, finishing third and then deciding to work for a wine distributor, first as a account manager and then as a wine buyer. I am currently working as a account manager for a French specialist called Champagnes and Chateaux.

My role with the UKSA board is two-fold, being one of the UKSA's co-founders, until recently combined Secretary/Treasurer and now Treasurer.

The UKSA is such a wonderful organisation, whose role is to promote the art of sommelerie in the UK, to nurture and support new talents and above all, inspire a new generation of wine lovers.

Getting your membership at the UKSA is in my opinion the first step to becoming part of a noble cause, a small family of like-minded professionals whose passion for wine is positively infections. After all, wine is a social lubricant...'
